Why Off Site Paperwork Storage is a Great Idea for Small Businesses As a Certified Public Accountant, I can tell you that one of the biggest struggles that most small businesses have is dealing with paperwork. There's so much financial and personnel and record keeping paperwork that goes into a small business that most businesses simply aren't equipped to deal with it. This can be a real problem during tax season, when businesses absolutely have to get all their year's paperwork together so that someone like me can file their taxes. I can't tell you how many times I've had to amend a tax return for a business – which costs them more time and money – or have had to extend their tax filing – which also costs time and money – simply because they didn't have their paperwork organized enough to get through tax season without any mishaps. Part of the problem for most small and micro businesses is that they simply don't have enough storage space to properly organize their paperwork and files. This means that when they do get paperwork they know they need to keep, it gets tossed in a spare drawer somewhere, and someone hopes to have it sorted out at a later date. Of course, this never really works out. This lack of space problem is why I'm bit on telling small business owners to check out self storage options that will allow them to take their business and tax paperwork off site where they'll have the space they need to keep it organized. I highly recommend US Storage Centers Gardena Self Storage location to small businesses in my area because it's affordable, convenient, and, most of all, quite secure. What Paperwork Can Be Kept in a Gardena Self Storage Unit One thing that business owners fail to realize on a regular basis is that there is so much business paperwork they'll need to keep indefinitely if they want to keep their businesses running. For instance, tax returns and worksheets, articles of incorporation, capital stock and bond registers, copyrights, legal correspondence, depreciation schedules, deeds and mortgages, licenses and permits, patents, and even property appraisals all have to be kept in the business files for the entire life of the business, and in some cases, even after the business is closed! Besides all that, things like personnel files, employment applications, payroll records, personal property tax returns, expense reports, employment tax reports, bank statements, cash books, accounting ledgers, bank reconciliations, and even expired insurance policies have to be kept for between one and seven years! That's besides all the annual paperwork that needs to be kept just so that that year's taxes can be filed in the first place! Obviously, that's a lot of paperwork for a small business owner to deal with, especially if they're working out of the home or a small office space. For this reason, it's a good idea for lots of small businesses to use a Gardena Self Storage unit like the ones they'll find at the local US Storage Centers. |

Gardena - Storing My Staging Furniture Now is a great time to be in the home staging business, I think. It's been great for me, at least. People who are looking to sell know that it's going to be tough, which means they're willing to do whatever it takes to find a buyer for their homes – even if that means paying a stager to make their homes look nicer. One of the great things about a staging business is that you can run most of it from home. But, of course, you've got to have a place to keep all the furniture and such you use for staging a home. For me, that means using a Gardena Self Storage unit through US Storage Centers as part of my business. I don't have room in my home or garage for all the extra furniture I need to stage one or two homes (the most I ever take at once because I only work part-time), and the Gardena Self Storage unit is the perfect solution for me. One of the things I love about the US Storage Centers Gardena Self Storage location is that it's affordable, and it's very secure. For staging, you don't use expensive furniture – just furniture that looks expensive – but, still, those are major pieces of my business, so I would be in a bunch of trouble if something happened to my staging furniture. The manager at the US Storage Centers Gardena Self Storage location was even kind enough to talk over my business with me and to give me some tips I hadn't thought of for storing my furniture in a self storage unit:
