Inglewood, California is located in Southwestern Los Angeles County and encompasses an area of 9.1 square miles. This city is the 12th largest in Los Angeles County and the 55th largest in California.  Inglewood is 9.1 miles from Los Angeles and 1.7 miles from Hawthorne.

Inglewood is made up of the following neighborhoods – Arbor Vitae,  Ashwood Park, Center Park, Centinela, Centinela Adobe, Centinela Springs, Century, Century Project Area, Circle Park, Crenshaw-Imperial, Darby Park, Downtown, Edward Vincent Jr Park, Grevillea Park, Hollywood Park, Imperial, Imperial-Prairie, Inglewood Park Cemetery, International Business Park, La Brea, La Cienega, Mancheste-Prairie, Morningside, North Inglewood, North Inglewood Park, North Inglewood Project, North Park, Queen Park, Rogers Park, Siminski Park, South Inglewood, Southwest Inglewood, and The Village.

Inglewood has a mild year round temperatures average in the 70s in the summer and in the 50’s during the winter.  The warmest month of the year is August and the coldest month is December. The annual prescription is 13.15 inches with the wettest month of the year being February.

 

Inglewood is centrally located in Southern California with access to major sources of infrastructure.  This city sits in the middle of four major freeways I-405, I-105, I-110, and I-10 and located 2 miles from Los Angeles World Airport.  This area is less than 30 minutes from the Los Angeles and Long Beach harbors. This area is also served by the Union Pacific and Burlington Northern Santa Fe rail lines making this area very enticing to businesses because it is a gateway to major commercial centers.

Inglewood is primarily a family community with 86 percent of the homes being occupied by families. Homes with families are quite often in need of secure storage space as their homes are not able to accommodate all of their personal or seasonal items.

The 2009 population of Inglewood was 112,241. The estimated median household income in 2009 was $44,249. The median age of Inglewood residents in 2000 was 29.6 years. The estimated median house or condo value in 2009 was $351,700.  

The percentage of people that are renting versus owning their residence is above stage average.  The number of rooms per home is also below state average.   Since many of the homes are small, the residents of these homes are likely to be seeking storage solutions as their family increases in size and would benefit from nearby Inglewood self storage units.

The population density as of 2009 was very high with 12,286 people per square mile. The Inglewood area has a highly educated workforce with over 46 percent of the residents having a college education which is a plus for incoming businesses seeking qualified employees.

Inglewood is home to Springfield College and the University of West Los Angeles Law School. This city is also located less than 20 minutes from Loyola Marymount University, University of California Los Angeles, University of Southern California, California State Universities at Long Beach and Dominguez Hill, El Camino Community College and Los Angeles Southwest College.  As with all communities that are homes to institutions of higher education or located near   institutions of higher education, there is a large turnover of residents as students move in the area to attend college and leaves when classes are not in session.  These college towns are in always in need of nearby secure storage units for students. These students may storage space for personal items due to lack of space in dorm rooms or require storage space for personal items when they vacate their dorm rooms during the summer months.  Many students prefer to keep items in secure storage rather than haul them home only to haul them back in the fall when classes resume.

In the past 25 years, Inglewood has increased by more than 300 single family homes, 550 condos, and 489 units for seniors and disabled.  The median property value is much lower than homes in cities in similar climates.  The crime level also tends to be lower than average.   

With the wonderful climate and the low crime rate will encourage people to relocate to this area.  When people are in the process of relocating they are in definite need for storage solutions, and after they relocate will be need of storage units for storing their seasonal items and excess items when they do not have the storage space in their home.
