Moving Our Business's Paperwork Off Site When my wife and I started running a home decorating business out of what had been our two-car garage a few years ago, we weren't sure about a lot of things. We didn't really know how to do paperwork for a business or how to tackle the finances, which is why we hired an accountant. We both knew about the decorating part of the business, but our accountant helped with pretty much all the paperwork and financial aspects of the decorating business. One thing that our accountant drilled into our heads throughout the beginning of the business set up process was that we had to keep our paperwork organized. So we went into this venture knowing that we needed to be really diligent about keeping things organized. We're so glad now that she drilled that into our heads! I can't imagine how long it would have taken us to get ready to have our taxes done every year if she had just let us go about our merry way and keep the paperwork in piles around our garage office! At any rate, after about two years of business, we were talking to our accountant one day about how much trouble it was to store all the paperwork. We already had one large filing cabinet in the workshop and garage, and that was about all we could handle. I mean, between the sewing machines, design area, and spot where we met with clients, there just wasn't any more space. We were interior designers, so we knew when we were really out of space! So our brilliant accountant actually suggested that we check out an off site storage location for our paperwork. Genius! We hadn't thought of that but immediately saw the benefits. We weren’t ready to expand our work area any time soon, and an Irwindale Self Storage unit would give us just the space we needed to store our business paperwork. We got to work the next day pricing out different Irwindale Self Storage locations near our workshop and home. That's when we found US Storage Centers Irwindale Self Storage. The location was perfect, and they had worked with plenty of businesses in the past. We were really happy with the overall feel of the place, which was more well-kept than a couple of other storage spaces we'd checked out. Plus, the prices were very competitive in the Baldwin Park Self Storage market. And once the manager had talked us through their security system, we knew that our paperwork would be secure there, which was obviously very important to us as small business owners. |

Irwindale - Finding a Place for Furniture Before Baby's Arrival When I first found out I was pregnant, I was so excited to get the baby's nursery ready! The problem was that we didn't have a nursery to get ready. We'd have to spend my pregnancy looking for a new place to live before we could get a new nursery ready. I told myself I'd just have to hold off on buying baby furniture and nursery items until after we moved, but then I came across an amazing sale on the exact Pottery Barn baby furniture I wanted. I knew I wouldn't get another deal like that before the baby came, so I talked to my fiance about it, and we decided to go ahead and buy the furniture. He suggested, though, that we should look into Baldwin Park Self Storage units so we could keep the furniture out of the way for a couple of months until we moved into our new home with the baby's room. A friend suggested we check out an Irwindale Self Storage location called US Storage Centers, and that seemed like a great idea to us. We went to check it out, and we really liked what the US Storage Centers Irwindale Self Storage location had to offer. They had really great prices, and the units were secure. Plus the manager was kind enough to help us figure out exactly what size unit we'd need to store the baby's nursery furniture set. One thing that was great about the Irwindale Self Storage location was that the manager took the time to give us tips on how to store the baby's furniture so it would be as safe as possible during the time in storage. Here are the tips he gave us for furniture storage:
