Storing My Christmas Secrets

In my family, keeping a secret is next to impossible. I made the unfortunate mistake of telling my kids when they were young how I would always ferret out my parents' hiding place for my Christmas presents, unwrap them to see what they were, and wrap them again before anyone knew the difference. Well, that led to a competition of sorts to see which of my kids could find out first what they were getting for Christmas. It wasn't until I found my Lancaster Self Storage unit that I was able to keep any secrets from them at all!

See, I was talking to my girlfriend about this problem one day. It doesn't really make me mad that my kids always know what they're getting for the holidays, but it does make me want to outsmart them. They're teenagers now, so we can get a little competitive just for fun! My friend suggested I find somewhere outside my own home to hide the kids' Christmas gifts. I'd already tried hiding them at the neighbors' and at my own parents' house, but they still managed to figure things out!

What was a bit of money for three months' worth of storage compared to knowing that my kids would never find their Christmas presents?

I rented a unit that very day! The next weekend, I started doing my Christmas shopping, and I figured out just how convenient it was going to be to keep my Christmas secrets in a Lancaster Self Storage unit. Instead of having to sneak home with all the bags and boxes after my kids were either out of the house or asleep, I just drove by the storage unit at Lancaster Storage in the middle of the day, dropping off everything I had bought, and headed home. What with needing a code to get into the storage facility and needing the combination for my lock to get into the unit itself, they'll never figure out how to get to their Christmas presents until I'm ready for them to!

One of the best parts about my Lancaster Self Storage unit is that I can get into it whenever I need to, pretty much. The gate hours aren't unlimited, but they're long enough that I can go shopping for a whole day and then drop off gifts at the storage unit that evening before gate hours close up. Plus, on Christmas Eve, I'll be able to run over and get all of the gifts together so they don't have to be in the house for more than a few hours before it's time to open presents, anyway!

I've been getting really smart with my Lancaster Self Storage unit and even keeping wrapping paper, scissors, and tape over there. That way, when I come with a load of presents, I can wrap a few at a time, label them, and stack them up in the unit, ready to go. I won't even have to worry about hiding in my bedroom from the kids on Christmas Eve while I frantically try to get all their gifts wrapped! It's pretty much perfect.
