Bristol, Connecticut is located in Hartford County and encompasses 26.8 square miles. This city is located in the central part of the state with easy access to major highways.   Bristol is one of the largest cities in the state and is a wonderful combination of friendly neighborhoods. Bristol is located 58 miles from Brookhaven, New York and 75.7 miles from Bronx, New York.  

Bristol was named by Money Magazine in 2010 as one of the top 100 best places to live and ranked the 4th most historical small town in America.

The climate of Bristol is warm during the summer months with temperatures averaging in the 70s.  The winter months are very cold with temperatures in the 20s.  This area also gets a great deal of snowfall.  With this area experiencing the 4 seasons, many residents of the area that participate in both winter and summer sports would likely be in need of storage units to keep their sporting equipment during the off season.

Bristol’s street system is composed primarily of 4 state roads.  SR 6 and 72 carry traffic east and west and SR 229 and 69 carry traffic north and south.

The largest and most notable employers in the area include Bristol Hospital (a 134 bed full-service health care institution), Associated Spring (international manufacturer of precision metal components, assemblies, and distributor of industrial supplies), ESPN (broadcast studios), Otis Elevator Company, CIGNA Insurance, City of Bristol & Board of Education, Stephen AutoMall Centre, IDEX Health & Science, Sheriden Woods Health Care Center, Quality Coils, Stop & Shop, Rowley Spring and Stamping, and The Pines at Bristol.  Many manufacturing businesses are often in need of finding storage solutions for their products and would benefit from secure storage facilities nearby.

Bristol is located within 20 miles of several colleges and universities with a student body of over 2000.  These colleges and universities include Central Connecticut State University (New Britian), Naugatuck Valley Community College (Waterbury), University of Hartford (West Hartford), Trinity College, Manchester Community College (Manchester), Wesleyan University (Middletown), and Quinnipiac (Hamden).  Communities that are homes to institute of higher education have a great number of people moving in and out of the community as they attend college.  Students may be in need of storage units for excess personal items that do not fit into dorm rooms.  These students may also be in need of nearby storage units to keep personal items when they are required to vacate the dorms during the summer months when they are not taking classes.

The City of Bristol has established the Bristol Development Authority (BDA) promotes commercial development in the area. The BDP develops programs and project that grow and attract business to the downtown area, business parks, industrial parks, commercial districts and neighborhoods. 

Bristol is a very old community founded in 1785.  Many of the homes in this area were built many years ago.  People today accumulate many more items today than in yesteryears.  Many older homes do not have the storage space required to handle a families storage needs.  Residents of this area would benefit greatly from nearby personal storage facilities to store their excess items. Today many people also run businesses out of their homes and in need of secure storage space to keep past records or inventory.
