Finding Self Storage for Our Lawn Supplies

Living in a small home in Corinth, we don't have a lot of extra space for storing things we use less than just about every day. There really just isn't room for extras in our home or our garage. So when it came time to start thinking about lawn care for the spring months this year, we were kind of at a loss as to what to do. Until this year, we'd been hiring out the lawn care because of not having room to keep our own supplies. This year, though, the lawn care service prices went up, and we can't afford them anymore.

So we could basically decide to let our lawn become a veritable jungle, or we could find room for our lawn care supplies, buy a mower, and do it ourselves. Those were pretty much our two options, and luckily, we found a Corinth self storage unit that was very affordable so that we didn't have to let our lawn grow into a jungle.

How it Works for Us

Most people don't think about keeping their basic lawn care supplies in a self storage unit, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do! A Corinth Self Storage unit from US Storage centers actually ended up being significantly cheaper than what we had been paying to have someone else take care of our lawn for us, so it was a great option for us this summer.

Basically, we rented the smallest possible US Storage Centers Corinth Self Storage unit that we could get. The unit was just big enough for our push lawn mower, our trimmer, and a few other odds and ends that we needed in order to take good care of our own lawn over the summer. The unit didn't cost much, and we felt like we were getting good value for our money, since we were actually saving money over the summer just by being able to take care of our own lawn.

Now, we store most of our lawn care supplies in our Corinth Self Storage unit, which isn't very far from our home, at all. Whenever we need to cut the grass, we just take the truck over to the Corinth Self Storage unit and get the job done. It's really simple, actually. Some people thing it might be totally inconvenient to have your lawn care stuff squirreled away in a storage unit, but this isn't the case at all for us.

Since the Corinth Self Storage location of US Storage Centers is so close to our home, and since it's open to customers pretty much whenever we need to get into our storage unit, it's really easy to get in and out and to get our lawn care stuff when we need it.

Finding Room for My Business Documents

As a freelance personal assistant, I deal with tons and tons of paperwork every day. Some of it is for my clients, but much of it has to do with my own business. There are receipts and invoices and tax documents and insurance documents and more that I have to keep. Unfortunately, there's just not room in my tiny home office for all these documents. So instead of having a completely disorganized home office, which would drive me nuts, I decided to find room elsewhere for my business documents.

After a bit of research, I decided to go with US Storage Centers Corinth self storage. The location was perfect – just around the corner from my home/office, and they had a lot of other things going for them, too. For instance, the US Storage Centers Corinth Self Storage location had great prices on their smaller units, which was all I needed. They also had very clean and neat facilities, unlike some of the other storage locations I'd seen over the years. So, here's why and how this Corinth Self Storage location works for me as a small business owner looking for somewhere to store my business documents:

Why I Love US Storage Centers Corinth Self Storage

There are several reasons that I chose this particular Corinth Self Storage location. One is just that it's convenient for me to access, which is important. Some weeks I need to run over to the storage unit to dig out old files or file away new ones three or four times, so it's really important that this is a convenient thing to do. Luckily, though, the US Storage Centers facility has other things going for it, as well, since I probably wouldn't have chosen it if it were all run down and overpriced.

The overall presentation of the facility was important to me, too. I mean, it's self storage. You're not looking for anything overly fancy! But I did want my Corinth Self Storage location to be neat and well-kept, and I don't want to have to worry about leaks in my unit. The units that the manager showed me all fit this description. While you can never be 100% sure that water damage won't occur, the well-built units definitely look as waterproof as possible.

Also, the pricing of the US Storage Centers Corinth Self Storage location's units don't hurt, either. I only needed a small amount of space, which is exactly what I could get at this Corinth Self Storage location. Their smallest units are just the size of a reach-in closet, which is just about perfect for what I need. The price of those smaller units is great, and they even have some good deals for when you first get your self storage unit, so that you can save even more money. Apparently they also work with business clients frequently because the manager was able to help me find the best possible solution for my business, whether that was monthly automatic payments out of my business checking account or annual payments that gave me even more of a discount.

For all these reasons, I decided to choose US Storage Centers Corinth Self Storage, and I've never looked back!

My Self Storage Story - Corinth

Storage for My Extra Craft Supplies

I've always been a crafty person. I can remember doing freestyle art project as a kid, and just loving being able to make a big old mess with my mom's craft supplies. I love crafting to this day. The problem is that crafting takes so much space. Every project comes with its own supplies and materials and equipment, and I just don't have room for it in my small apartment. So instead of giving up crafting, restricting myself to one type of craft, or letting my apartment get ridiculously cluttered with crafting supplies, I use a Corinth self storage unit for my crafting supplies.

It might sound silly to some people, but it works really well for me. All I really need is one extra closet where all my crafting supplies can go, and that's what Corinth Self Storage gives me. It's much cheaper to rent a storage unit than it is to get a bigger apartment, so this is a fantastic solution money-wise, as well.

I came up with the idea of renting a Corinth Self Storage unit a few months ago when I happened to drive by US Storage Centers Corinth Self Storage. I had a few new project ideas in mind, but I knew I didn't have room to put the things they would require to get finished. I was trying to figure out what I could do when I say the US Storage Centers sign. I immediately wondered to myself what it would cost to get a little extra space with a storage unit, so I decided to go in and find out.

I talked to the manager about what I needed, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Corinth Self Storage location had excellent prices on units that were really pretty small. I could get a unit the size of a closet for next to nothing! At least, it was way cheaper than renting a larger apartment just so I could have a separate crafting room.

I still wasn't quite sure I wanted to rent a personal storage unit for my crafting supplies. I'd just never heard of anyone doing that before! But as soon as I got home and started sorting through all my supplies and equipment, I knew it was the right decision for me.

So, I went back the next day to sign a lease on my Corinth Self St

Storing Our Tailgating Gear

You don't really realize what a big deal football tailgating is here in Texas until you've been to a few tailgating parties. I've been at tailgating parties with my family since I was about knee high, and I have hundreds of tailgating stories saved up in my memory. In our family, tailgating for Dallas games and high school football games at the local school is just a way of life, and it's also serious business. That's how we ended up with so much tailgating gear – from the coolers to the umbrellas to the grills. There's just a lot of gear that we pretty much only use during football season.

This didn't used to be a problem because I lived on my own and could keep all the gear in my spare bedroom. Not an issue for a bachelor like me. But when I got married and had a kid, it became an issue. My wife and I lived in the house I had owned, which is just a two bedroom, and we just didn't have room for all that tailgating gear anymore.

Of course, I didn't want to get rid of things. Even though we didn't tailgate all year round, we still did it often enough to justify keeping all my gear. But we also didn't want to give up a garage space to have it in there. So, my mom suggested we check out the US Storage Centers Corinth self storage location. She'd used it before for temporary storage while she was remodeling her kitchen and she'd been very pleased with it. She thought it might be the perfect way to compromise so that we could get the tailgating gear out of the house without actually getting rid of it.

So, we went down one afternoon to talk to the manager of the Corinth Self Storage location about the various units they had available. He talked us through the different sizes and prices, and he event talked us through the security system. I wasn't all that worried about security. I mean, I didn't want everything out there in the open and totally accessible, but, seriously, who was going to steal my rusty old grill? Still, it was nice to know that if we ever decided to put something more valuable into our Corinth Self Storage unit, we would be able to do it without worrying because they had such a great security system.

Storing Baby Stuff in Corinth

Storing Baby's Future Christmas and Birthday Gifts

I'm a big planner. My husband always makes fun of me for it. Before our daughter had cut her first tooth at four months, I pretty much had her first Christmas and birthday planned –they were six and seven months away, respectively! I knew what kind of party we were having and what our daughter was getting for both the holiday and her birthday. I even had a few gifts in mind for subsequent years.

Part of being a planner is that we're on a tight budget, so we don't have a ton of money to spend on extra stuff for our daughter all at once. So, I started taking out about $25 a month from the bank account so that I could buy her gifts ahead of time as I found them on sale. And, man, I'm a great sale shopper. I found her art easel for her second birthday at a garage sale for ten bucks one day, and I've gotten the majority of her gifts for Christmas and her first birthday already for a grand total of about $75. It's great!

The problem was that as I started to build up an arsenal of gifts for the future, we ran out of room to put them. It's not a big deal right now if I store her birthday gifts in plain sight, but in another year or two, it's going to be a problem!

So, I came up with a plan. We would upgrade our Corinth self storage unit so I could use it to store our daughter's future Christmas and birthday gifts in as I bought them. We already had a Corinth Self Storage unit to use for things like Christmas decorations, my husband's fishing tackle, and some other odds and ends that wouldn't really fit in the garage. I knew it wouldn't cost much to get the next unit size up so that we would also have room for our daughter's gifts.

I talked my husband into it, and we signed the new lease the next weekend. Upgrading to a larger unit with US Storage Centers Corinth Self Storage was as easy as could be. We just moved all our stuff over to our new unit, and then I set aside some space for the baby's gifts. It was a really simple process, and we were even able to count the rent we'd already paid on the smaller unit towards the new rent price on the larger unit for that first month! I'll do just about anything to save a buck, so that was a pretty big deal for me!

Storing Furniture at Corinth Self Storage

Corinth – Storing Furniture for Our Third Child

It's exciting to get all new furniture and things with your first child, but once you do that, it's a good idea to save it for the next kid. You learn pretty quickly once you have more than one child that hand me downs are not entirely a bad thing! So when our second child was finished with his baby furniture, we decided to keep it in storage so that we could use it for our third child in another year or so. We saved the furniture between the first and second child, too, but then we had an extra bedroom where we could keep it. This time, we had no such luck!

So, we looked at different Corinth self storage options to find one that would work for us. We needed a furniture storage location that was affordable, close to home, and secure. The US Storage Centers Corinth Self Storage location met all of these criteria. It offered some of the best prices in town – including an extra discount for the first couple months' worth of self storage. The location was also great, since it was close to our home, and the security was unmatched. We felt great about leaving our baby furniture in storage at the Corinth Self Storage location!

One of the other things that really sold us on the Corinth Self Storage location was the customer service. When we first moved in, the manager was great about helping us figure out what size unit we would need. We were surprised to find that it was much smaller than we'd originally thought we would need. Also, the manager gave us some great furniture storage tips that would help us keep our baby furniture in perfect condition until we were ready to pull it out of storage for our next baby.

Here are some of the best tips the Corinth Self Storage manager gave us:

  • Get cotton sheets: You might think you should cover the things you have in storage in plastic, but this is actually not a good idea. Plastic sheets may keep dust off, but they also keep moisture in. When the air gets humid, plastic can trap moisture against the furniture, causing rot and mold. If you cover the furniture in cotton, instead, you'll keep the dust off, but the furniture will also breathe. You don't even need to go get something expensive for this task. Just use old cotton sheets from home or buy some from a Salvation Army!
  • Get packing pallets: The manager of the Corinth Self Storage location also told us that it's a good idea to put our furniture up on those wooden packing pallet things. That keeps the furniture from touching the concrete floor, where it can wick up moisture that fathers on the floor when the weather chances or when it's very humid. You can also get packing pallets cheap or free – just ask for used ones at your local grocery store!

Corinth Storage - Bigger Garage

Corinth Storage

Everything isn’t just bigger in Texas, it also takes up more space. And this can be a problem when you are looking to store way too many belongings in too small of a house or a garage. When your house gets full, you likely move all of the junk out to the garage, and this limits the space you can use in your garage. With your garage filled to the brim with junk, you will not be able to spend time in the room to do what you want, to enjoy your time, to relax, to set up a man cave or to set up a card table.

Your garage is a part of your home and your property, and it should be an extra place for living, enjoying your friends and family and showing off to guests. If your garage is attached to your house with your back or side door, you might have people walking through all the time. A Corinth self storage unit will change the way that you clean and that you maintain your garage, and you can use a Harbor Corinth self storage location to make your garage more presentable to everyone that passes through it.

You can’t just get rid of some of the things in your garage, and chances are there is no room in your house for the items – or they would already be there. Where, then, can you go with your old junk to clear out your garage? A Corinth self storage location, with a Corinth self storage unit of any size will give you the place that you have been looking for for all of your old items. With a Corinth self storage unit, you will know where your items are at all times, and you will know that they are organized in the way that you want them.

When you throw all of the unnecessary objects from your garage into a Corinth self storage unit, you will not have to worry about old tools falling off of the wall, rusty objects turning into eye sores or old clothes stinking up the room. You can clear the floors and the walls, give the floor a sweep and have a place where you will feel proud to eat lunch, to have some beers, to plug in your video games or to watch the Cowboys game on Sunday. Using your Corinth self storage unit will clear up all of these capabilities for you, and you will be able to enjoy your garage the way that it was meant to be.

Storage and space are a big deal to a lot of people around the world, and for some people there just isn’t enough room in their houses or their homes. Many of these people then choose to use their garages to store all of their old items or things, and their garage is stripped of the capability of becoming the extra living space that it can be for many people. Especially if you have a garage attached to your kitchen or to your house, you may want to have the room to use as another living room or an extra basement area.
