For people who have never used a storage unit in Glendale before, gauging how much space will be needed to hold everything they want to store is often difficult, if not nearly impossible. It may not seem like you could fit three rooms of furniture into one compact storage space, but, if packed correctly, it can be done. A self-storage unit is an excellent idea if you are planning on downsizing, moving, packing away seasonal belongings, organizing your office or home, or simply looking for a place to safely store your belongings while you are not using them. Here are some general guidelines that will help you determine which storage unit size will make the most sense for you: Smaller Units Smaller units, like our 5x10 units, provide you with 50 square feet of space to work with. Think about a walk-in closet sized space. You can store boxes and other storage containers, as well as a few small pieces of furniture, such as chairs, end tables, or small bookcases. These units are perfect when you want to declutter your home or store seasonal items that are taking up too much space in your home. Our 10x10 units will be twice the size of a 5x10, providing you with much more space to store packed boxes and storage containers, as well as more pieces of small furniture. A 10x10 unit will typically hold the contents in a one-bedroom apartment. With smaller units like these, it is imperative to utilize the height of the unit by stacking boxes and containers vertically. Medium and Large Sized Units If you are packing up and storing a two-bedroom apartment, you will most likely need a 10x15 unit, which provides you with 150 square feet of space to pack your things into. If you are packing a small house, you may be able to fit your belongings into a 10x15, as well. A 10x20 unit, with 200 square feet of floor space, should be able to hold the contents of a three- to four-bedroom apartment or house. If you need to store a vehicle indoors, you can part one in a 10x20, as well. Our 20x15 and 15x30 sized units are all similar to the size of a double car garage. Just think about all of the stuff you can store in that amount of space. (Especially if you figure out how to utilize the vertical space to the maximum.) Our largest sized units, the 15x44 and 20x30, provide extra large space for those with additional storage needs. You will most likely only need a 15x44 or 20x30 foot unit if you are storing the contents of a home that is four or five bedrooms large We hope that this breakdown of storage unit sizes helps you to select the right size for your move.
