Welcome back! In Part 1 (see it here), we shared several tips to help you store your items safely and properly. We were only getting started. And with that in mind, here are some more: • Don't pack books on their sides, that's a common mistake and all it does, is ruin their spines. Pack them flat to protect them. • Take the furniture apart to save space. Dismantling large pieces such as beds and tables, will give you extra room for the boxes and all the other items you need to store. • Talking about large pieces and saving space... Try placing them vertically to save floor space. You can store sofas, arm chairs and love-seats at the back of the unit for even more space saving. Always place a protective waterproof cover over them. • Drain washing machines before storing them, and tie down any loose hoses. Think about wiping the insides with baking soda before storing. Clean items have longevity. Also, one thing we didn't get around to mentioning last time, is that it's best to fill each box completely. Place the heaviest items at the bottom and the lighter ones on top. Label ALL boxes on all four sides, so you can easily identify what you're looking for.
