Did you know that our San Miguel Avenue storage facility in Glendale is only about 10 minutes away from University of Phoenix Stadium? That means we’re in the heart of Super Bowl XLIX territory. There are more than 100 events scattered throughout the valley, and we’ve got the 411 on which ones are expected to be the hottest. January 28: Night Moves Kick-Off Party Moves Magazine is holding their party at Hotel Valley Ho in Scottsdale. It will be co-hosted by former NFL player Simeon Rice, with music by DJ Grandmaster Flash and a live performance from the Ting Tings. The venue itself is pretty swanky, but they’ve actually held back tickets and reserved them for celebs, who will literally be walking a red carpet upon arrival. Although there’s no word on who will be in attendance this year, people like Troy Aikman, Jimmy Buffet, Kim Kardashian, Ray Lewis, Richard Sherman, and Michael Strahan have attended previously. January 28, 29, 30: DirecTV Super Fan Fest Just across the street from the University of Phoenix Stadium is the Pendergast Family Farm, which will be the site of DirecTV’s three-day festival. More than 45,000 people are expected to come out and see some of the best bands around. Wednesday’s talent includes the Zac Brown Band, Sam Hunt, Thomas Rhett, and The Cadillac Three. Jason Derulo, Alesso, Calvin Harris, Magic!, and Becky G are slated for Thursday. Friday’s performances will be by Snoop Dogg, Imagine Dragons, American Authors, Young the Giant, and Ingrid Michaelson. January 31: Taste of the NFL Westworld in Scottsdale is hosting this year’s “Party with a Purpose.” This event is held each year in the Super Bowl’s host city. The event gathers up restaurants from each NFL city, including some of the best chefs in the world. Patrons can dine, sip on wine, and mingle with players. There is also a silent auction, and proceeds from the occasion are divided up amongst food banks of each NFL city. This year, the country sensation, Little Big Town, will be performing as well. For more information, check out Taste of the NFL’s website. January 31: Rolling Stone Magazine Party The Venue Scottsdale is hosting this year’s Rolling Stone bash. It may well be the party of the year, with performances by Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, as well as Charli XCX. The space is amazing, too, with multiple levels, a retracting roof and private rooms. It’s a bit on the ritzy side, however. Admittance is going for over 800 dollars and VIP tables for 60,000 dollars, but you can bet this is where the A-listers and celebrities will be when they descend upon Phoenix for the game. The DirecTV Super Fan Fest is probably your best bet if you’re trying to get more bang for your buck. It also keeps you close to all the activity. Although the other events are more costly, they will give you the opportunity to meet with athletes, stars, celebrities, and musicians. However, no matter where in the Phoenix area you wind up, you’re sure to find plenty of activity this week. Call or visit us to find the best solution for storage needs.
