No matter the time of year, you're always on the lookout for new organizing tips and inspiration. It’s always a good idea to keep our space clean de-cluttered, and what’s one place in the kitchen that gets most cluttered, most quickly? That's right – the fridge. The purpose of this blog is to help educate, keep your produce as fresh as possible for as long as possible, and make your kitchen appliance spic and span and organized to perfection. In a nutshell, perfect places to store Eggs, Milk, Yogurt, Sour Cream and Cottage Cheese. These items will thrive in the back of the middle and bottom shelves. 2. Butter and Soft Cheeses can be stored on the side door (also know as the warmest parts of the fridge). 3. Vegetables stay fresh longer with the help of humidity. Store them in their original packaging or a plastic bag, loosely tied. 4. Fruits and Vegetables should be left unwashed until you need to use them. Water promotes mold and cause bacteria to grow. 5. Fresh Juices should be placed in the cold spot (the bottom shelf). If they’re pasteurized however, you can store them on the side of the door. 6. Keep Deli Meats and Packaged Raw Meat on the bottom shelf. It’s slightly colder than the rest of the fridge. Keep the meats tightly wrapped and far back on the shelf, to stay as cold as possible. 7. Any items with natural preservatives (like salt and vinegar) can be stored on the door. That goes for Salad Dressings, Ketchup, Mayonnaise, Pickles and Salsas. An open box of baking soda or a container of activated carbon (from any pet store) can absorb the odors inside. 8. Keep things organized and in place with plastic baskets or bins. You can label them too. If you're struggling with the space available, keep this in mind: magazine holders will make great freezer shelves :) Let us know if you found this useful.
