Some people can't remember life before they had a self storage unit from our West Glendale self storage facility. Now that they have all of their prized possessions in one easy place, life is much easier. They don't like to think about how it was. With their self-storage unit, their valuables are no longer taking up all of the space in their home. How did they do it before self-storage units? Everyone survives without a self-storage unit differently. Here are a couple ways that people try to cope. Put All Of Your Extra Belongings In One Room This method assumes you have a room you are willing to dedicate to storage. You have to pick one room though. The kids don’t need their own rooms. Maybe you can fit your 2.7 children in the bigger room at the end of the hall and use Sally’s room as the storage room. It will be a tight squeeze but you can probably do it. The only problem you find is that it is hard to get some of the bigger items through her door since it opens on to the hall. But you do it; through a complicated dance that even involves some origami with your antique overstuffed chair, that you swore to your parents you would keep in the family, you are able to get it into the room. You place the chair to the back of the room and then stack boxes and sundries up around it until your back touches the door. There, you have just enough room to close the door. Use The Extra Space In Each Room This is the method most people use to store their precious items they don’t use every day. You would be surprised how much unused space you can find in each room of your house. Start with the bedrooms. Look at all that empty space underneath the beds. You can tell your kids that by filling the space under their bed the monsters will have to move out. The monsters won’t move into their closet either. Look at all that space on the shelf above the hanging clothes. You can fill 20 shoeboxes full of knick-knacks on that shelf. You can also hang everyone’s winter clothes on that extra 10” of space on the right side of their closet. It will be a tight squeeze, but your kids don’t exactly hang up their clothes anyway. Each room has hidden corners and shelves where you can cram something. And we haven’t even mentioned the garage. The garage is a treasure trove of empty space. Just don’t let your teenager try to park in that tight spot. Let’s see if you can pull the car in. Good job; you did it, only now you can’t open the doors to get out. Having Your Own Self-Storage Unit Is Easier When people use the above methods they eventually get so frustrated they start tossing treasured heirlooms or giving away valuable collectables at a yard sale. (Regret is soon to follow). It is so much easier when you have a Glendale self-storage unit. Once you have one and you have freed up your home, life truly begins.
