We are halfway through the Spring season so if you have not yet started your Spring Cleaning routine, there is no better time! We put together a checklist of places to remember to clean, as well as some tips to help you be the most efficient. Places To Remember To Clean A lot of people clean their homes regularly, but most just do larger items - such as vacuuming the living room rug - or what they can see - such as dust on a end table. But there is a lot that gets missed, like small crevices and appliances. Washing machine. Inside and outside. This is where you clean all of your clothes, towels, and sheets; this should be cleaned as often as possible. Underneath large items, specifically the furniture (couch, bed, dressers, etc.). Ceiling Fans. Carpets. Shampoo and condition your carpets after vacuuming. Tips Start by making a checklist. Go around your house and make a list of every room and every item that needs to be cleaned. Plan. Create a timeline of when you want everything to be done by. A lot of families have a designated day where everyone pitches in to clean, but if this is not possible for you, space it out. Do a few hours each day, but try to ensure everything is done within a timely manner. Figure out who, if any, will be helping you. Assess everyone's strengths (who is tall enough to reach the crown molding that needs to be dusted, who is strong enough to lift/move furnitue, etc.) and delegate accordingly. Play music. While everyone is cleaning, keep it exciting so everyone stays fresh and alert. Bonus Tip: Don't forget to clean out your fridge and freezer. While this is not technically "cleaning", getting rid of old items that will not be eaten will prevent any bacteria or mold buildup.
