It’s nearing Halloween and you’re looking for a creative way to tote around your furry friend this spooky season. Dressing up with your pet for Halloween is an adorable idea and we've collected great pairs of costumes from your favorite blockbuster movies, comics, tv series and more! The best part of the below list of costume ideas is that you can decide if you would like to switch the costumes around like our first example. 1. Red Riding Hood & Grandma This old tale gave us an incredible opportunity to dress up our pet as a grandma. But if you would rather don a grey wig and well-placed makeup, it is very simple to put a red hood on your pet! 2. Ian Malcolm and Dinosaur Jurassic Park has made a mighty comeback over the past few years with Chris Pratt as the lead to relaunch the early 90's series. Jeff Goldblum's character is very memorable along with his fiesty prehistoric costars. Dressing up as Ian couldn't be easier with some 90's era black sunglasses, and an all-black ensemble. There are also some great costumes to purchase and handy DIY's available to transform your animal into a dinosaur. 3. Role Reversal This is the perfect time to figure out if pet owners truly look like their pets. Dress your animal up as yourself and find out for yourself! 4. Jake & Finn from Adventure Time Finn and his magical dog on Adventure Time are always fun to watch and the highest form of flattery is imitation! 5. Safari Guide & Lion All you need for your pet with this costume is the lion's mane that secures comfortably around your pet's neck and the optional tail for good measure. For the human portion of the costume, the safari guide is a great investment because it can be repurposed as Jurassic Park's Dr. Grant, Steve Irwin, The Rock's character in Jumanji 2, and more! 6. Dorothy & Toto This is the perfect costume for a pet with dark hair and a resistance to costume pieces. 7. Woody & Buzz Lightyear A small cowboy hat and red bandana have your pet set! Buzz Lightyear's costume is a little more complex but the effort will really pay off. 8. Bank Robbers Striped shirt and a small bag of money will have people holding their wallets a little closer, but your adorable dog can ease their mind. 9. Cheerleaders If being a normal cheerleader isn't enough for you, channel characters from Riverdale, Bring It On, John Tucker Must Die, Fired Up! and more. 10. Wonder Women & Clark Kent Everyone looks great as a superhero and this couple isn't any different. 11. Firefighter and Dalmation The best thing about this costume is if you aren't fond of a firefighter costume on yourself, you can dress up as Cruella de Vil and still have a Dalmatian. Even if your pet isn't a Dalmatian, there are pet-friendly paints to give your pet spots! 12. Barista & Starbucks Drink We love this costume as a very budget-friendly option. All you need is a green apron and print out two Starbucks logos. One can be placed on the apron and another on a white or beige shirt that fits your pet. 13. Nurse and Doctor This trusty costume is well loved for you and your significant other but is so much better when it's with your dog, cat or other pet. 14. Jim & Dwight from The Office If Jim could dress up as Dwight for $11, your dog can too! Find a yellow shirt, part your dog or cat's hair down the middle if they have longer fur and some very outdated glasses. Jim's costume is a bit trickier but once people see your pet, they should put two and two together. If all else fails, look into the distance when someone says something offputting as if looking at a camera. 15. Batman & Robin Your pet is always there for you as a trusty sidekick much like Robin to Batman. This is the ultimate costume for you and your companion even if the only crime you fight is the spiders in your room. 16. Mario & Luigi You don't have to sport the heavy Italian accent for this costume but you can if you wish to gradually annoy your friends. Match with your best friend and store some treats in your overalls to reward good behavior. 17. Spiderman & the Spider We've all the seen the video of the dog in a spider Halloween costume scaring strangers. The best way to incorporate this into your costume is to dress as the one and only Spiderman and the insect who gave you "spidey" powers! 18. Lilo & Stitch This Disney movie has one of the most hilarious twosomes. Lilo and Stitch had us giggling from a young age, so why not be them for one night? 19. Chuck & Wilson from Cast Away Tom Hanks had an iconic role in Cast Away as did his lovely costar, Wilson, the volleyball. This is a clever costume to do with your dog and will warrant a few laughs. 20. Ash Ketchum & Pikachu Your dog's Pokémon is sure to warrant some "awww"'s when they see a small Pikachu zipping around. We definitely recommend testing the costume with your pet before Halloween. If they shake off their costume within seconds, it’s best to find something more comfortable. For example, you can always use pet safe paint to turn them into a zebra, cheetah, giraffe and more. There is also the option of a simple headband that fastens comfortably around their head and can be easy for your pet to move around in. Most of all, have an amazing time toting around your furry friend!
