Exams, quizzes and prepping for a long life ahead, full of life-defining moments. All while working part-time, and trying to scrap for dinners with friends. For the most part :) those are the worries of many college students. Another problem they have to face, is that dorms and low-cost apartments are especially known for their tiny little closets and “storage spaces”. And when you need to hang onto things, throwing things out is not really an option. So what do you do? If you're a college student, here are a couple money-saving tips to help you make the most out of your storage space: 1. Talk to your classmates. Odds are that you won’t be the only one looking for storage space. If you can, think about renting a storage unit together with a friend or roommate. It will be cheaper to split the cost as opposed to renting solely. 2. Keep an eye out for Free Truck Rentals. If you don’t have a truck, moving your furniture can get expensive. Make things cheaper by storing your items at a self storage facility that offers a free moving truck, or at least at a very low cost. We do! Ask us about our offers :) 3. Consider temporary options. Most self-storage facilities rent units by the month, so you can consider storing certain things temporarily. For example, you can only store winter or summer clothes and other seasonal items, items that you will need for school during school vacations. ‘LIKE’ and join the Facebook conversation for more!
