I felt like this places is running shady business practices. You all advertise prices and get promotional offers that entice a rent to use your services. After 4 months the rent basically doubles and exceeds what another company would charge monthly. This is done via email and not via text or auto update. I didn’t notice until my card auto charges and saw it was double than my agreed amount and again was only notified once via email about the double increase. That is completely shady and this location is very selective in how they sell you a unit.

Absolutely worst customer experience in my life. Gate was broken for over a month (despite multiple calls to office telling them about issue) allowing thieves to walk in and steal catalytic converter from my box truck. Cost me $8,000 and over a month to replace. Your management team offered me 1/2 month off of rent as compensation.

The units I've rented were clean & ready for me. The entire facility is relatively new & very well maintained. Generally the employees have been variously courteous & helpful.
My biggest issue is trying to pay my bill online, I seem to have a problem every 2-3 months, the pay by phone isn't always helpful either, but these issues would not be the fault of this location, it's a company software problem.
I would recommend this location to anyone looking for storage in the east metro & Western WI. They also have secure outside storage for boats, campers, motor homes & there's even a company that keeps their mid-size truck there!

My work trailer was broken into because the front gate was not working. The gate had not been working for months. They stole my construction tools and I missed work because of it. I was met with apathy when I discussed the situation with the site manager and US storage corporate. The only compensation I received was my previous month's rent returned. Which took several weeks.

It was the worst experience I’ve ever had with a storage center. My storage unit was broken into and my safety deposit box containing very sentimental and personal items such as my birth certificate, ss card, photo negatives, high school diploma were taken along with two laptops containing priceless photos. The manager never informed me that the gate had been broken for quite a while and anyone could enter. Also, I was told cameras were on site when I rented the unit but found out when things were stolen that they are only outside the door and the manager said he could not find any film of who took my things. While I received an insurance reimbursement it does nothing to replace my sentimental irreplaceable items. No one has reached out to me to truly apologize and take responsibility.

The storage center itself is clean and nice. We did have trouble, however, getting different messages from individuals while trying to sign up. We also couldn't get ahold of anyone on move-in day (as I was driving a U-Haul from out of town, I finally had my son drive there to deliver a message in person). Also, we were told we would receive a refund check (the refund amount was indicated on our exit printout). We waited 90 days but didn't receive the check. I called and they said they would expedite a check, but we still haven't received -- will likely have to call again.

I have been waiting on a prorated refund that was promised to me on 12/2/22 when I moved out of my unit. I have called at least 4-6 times and have been blown off every time. I’m always promised the check in the mail and it never comes. I’ve asked for the regional manager and nobody has followed up. I’m planning on stopping in this week to try one more time and then I’ll need to leave a google and yelp review reflecting my experience.
The gate was broken the last 4 weeks or more that we were tenants. Our prices were jacked up halfway through our contract. Absolutely terrible customer service.

It was excellent! Jennifer was exceptional in her customer service from the initial contact through the end of my rental period. It was a very difficult time for me as my mother had just passed away and she made the process extremely easy and efficient, which was greatly appreciated. When we started with you in March 2022 the place was clean. The floors were clean. The drive lanes were plowed completely and doors were easily accessible.
The security gate was always closed.
The last several months none of these things have been happening.
The floors are dusty, dirty, stained, and clearly not being attended to.
The security gate is always up and open.
There is less than 1/2 the drive lanes being plowed.
What happened???
I was so happy to move from the nastiness of Public Storage to a place that took pride in their facility and cared about the people paying their bills promptly every month.
Apparently this has changed
This saddens me.
What happened? Why the lack of caring and professionalism?
Please bring the facility back to the high standard it once had.

The price increase that was delivered earlier this year and only a 30 day notice was difficult. Although it was likely contractual, it’s really not enough time to react and plan as a renter accordingly.
Something like say 90+ days or an on 1/1/23 notice would have been much easier to swallow for the community and a suggestion might be to look at how the apartment community abides by notices too.

On site manager although pleasant appears to be totally incompetent! She was unable to resolve an errant charge for insurance when I had provided written proof of my own coverage. Her incompetence resulted in my being charged for two months of coverage with apparently no hope of recovery. Such a simple thing but yet much frustration for me. I am convinced that she regularly lied to me about the issue to cover her incompetence!

Snow and ice management could be better in winter...while the areas where users drive is clear, the snow is often packed up against the unit doors...I should have to bring a shovel to get to my unit. Also, the roof drains melted snow and ice right by my unit so even the few steps I have to take to open my unit are dangerous.

My experiences with US Storage have been very positive. Tiegen is excellent to work with each time I’ve needed assistance. My only concern with this location is security. Two full sides of the location are 6 foot chain link fence that seems to be a potential area for a person with bad intentions to breach.

Rented 2 indoor units for household items between moves, one was 10x20, the other was 10x10. Pricing was better than other storage places with similar features. Units were easily accessible, temperature controlled, and well lit. Location was convenient and staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely use US Storage in the future should the need arise.

Only issue is that the door I use to access sometimes won’t “stick” to the magnetic holder to hold the door open. Also, sometimes there is not a cart at the door. as it is shared with 2 doors, the staff told me, so I had to walk a ways to get it. Bathrooms are closed when office is closed, which is not usually a problem, but could be.

Start to finish, they made everything easy. I love that they had climate-controlled rooms accessible from outside so our moving trucks could pull right up to load and unload. The unit was in good shape, nice office staff, and reasonable rates. The one thing that I didn't like was that in the contract it stated that to cancel a unit you need to cancel in person in the office. My husband had emptied out our unit mid month and removed the lock. I went up a week later to sweep out the unit and cancel our contract. When I got there my gate code didn't work and when I spoke to the office worker I found out that they had already rented out my unit to someone else assuming that we had vacated. It would have been nice to not have to make the trip up there.

I was only there about a week as the RV was moved to an outstate location. Staff was very helpful and friendly. I was promised a refund for the time I didn't use due to geographical move of the RV, but haven't received the refund yet.

My experience at the Lake Elmo location has been great I've probably been a pain in the rear end for Sarah but she has definitely taken care of me she's even waited for me after closing because I was running late.
