Even if you’ve never been into the study of the physical world, science museums and centers never disappoint. And if you’ve got a few hours on your hands we’d like to share 5 incredibly cool things to do at the Arizona Science Center in Phoenix that will create one of the most memorable days you’ll ever experience. Create™ This is one of those things that you only ever thought kids really into school would be interested in. While they most certainly are, it’s a way for everybody to be engaged and have a great time doing it. The Create™ offers fun challenges in science for kids age 13-17 that combine science, design and engineering. The lucky attendees need to go to a workshop first to prepare them for some of the things they may encounter during their challenges—safety precautions, best practices, etc.—then they’re ready to go and engage in experimental fun. Planetarium Imagine watching the stars, moons, planets, and all variety of astral bodies float above you from the comfort of this state-of-the-art Planetarium. You’ll be taken on some fun “adventures” that let you explore the galaxies in different and entertaining ways. It’s probably good to know that old telescope neatly packed away in one of our storage units in Phoenix is there for you in case you decide to do a little stargazing of your own. Exhibits and shows The presentations offer unique and enjoyable journeys into science and what it has to offer. The new POPNOLOGY™, starting February 7, looks at how pop culture and technology influence each other. With all of the new and exciting films, television shows and entertainment that use science as their base, this exhibit is sure to amaze. IMAX This five-story screen makes you feel like you’re right in the films as they play. Every one is exciting and feels larger than life, holding your interest and playing into that joy of discovery. Education It’s more than going to school. It’s being hands on with scientific experimentation and exploration that gets the creative juices flowing and the brain excited. There’s the annual AzSEF (Arizona Science and Engineering Fair) set up to bring together the finalists of science fairs from all over Arizona in order to encourage the continued growth and interest in science. Camp Innovation teaches kids age 6-12 about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) through fun and interactive sessions that stretch their brains. There are even opportunities to involve homeschoolers, teens, toddlers and preschoolers. Enjoying experimentation Science fun in the Phoenix sun is out there waiting. US Storage Centers takes on a whole new feeling when you come to one of our Phoenix storage units after a day of scientific exploration.
