You don’t need to look very hard to see that beneath all the glitz and glamor of Beverly Hills and Hollywood, the Los Angeles area has a very weird side. Sometimes the weirdness just comes from peculiar landmarks or sightings. Sometimes it comes from the people. It just depends on where you look. The area within and around Alhambra has plenty of oddities as well. Let’s look at some of them. Gravity Roads Gravity roads are famous stretches of concrete that are rumored to be magnetic. The forces present on these things are so powerful, they are supposedly able to pull anything from a tennis ball to a full-size SUV uphill without any effort exerted from the person witnessing it. Gravity roads are located all over the place in Los Angeles and it would come as no surprise to us if there was one in Alhambra. If you do some searching, you just might stumble on one. The Watts Towers About fifteen minutes south of Alhambra, just on the same level as downtown Los Angeles, is the small suburb of Watts. This old area was one of the first suburbs set up when Los Angeles started to expand and since has gained a poor reputation for gang activity. However, if you are willing to brave that, you might come across one of the most unique pieces of architecture in the area: the Watts Towers. These towers were set up by an older resident of recycled steel over many years until the builder’s passing. They serve no purpose other than just being there and are now being considered for preservation by the California government. Devil’s Gate Reservoir Just to the west, in the neighboring suburb of Pasadena, there is a location of extreme infamy. Known as the Devil’s Gate Reservoir, this artificial lake just within city borders has been witness to a number of disappearances and occult-related murders for many years. Residents shun this area, claiming that it is a portal to Hell itself. Ghostly activity has been reported so terrifying that the witnesses never go back. If you have an eye for the sinister or frightening, you should definitely make the trip. Have fun exploring the weird side of Alhambra! Message brought to you by US Storage Centers in Alhambra, CA.
