Wine storage is a professionally managed, climate-controlled space for wine — held at cellar temperature and humidity so collections age properly. US Storage Centers in Chicago offers private lockers from 8 cases and walk-in rooms for larger collections.

Cost depends on locker size, measured in case capacity. Monthly rates for every size at US Storage Centers are listed in the unit cards on this page — smaller lockers rent for less than most Chicago parking spots.

A standard case holds 12 bottles. Our smallest locker holds 8 cases — about 96 bottles — and sizes step up through 12, 24, 60, and 100 cases to walk-in rooms holding 120 to 625 cases.

The cellar holds between 50-60°F and around 50% humidity year-round, with built-in humidifiers, engineered insulation, low light, and daily monitoring by our team — the conditions of a natural wine cave, underground in Chicago.

Access is limited to members, with gated electronic entry to the building and keypad access to the wine cellar. The facility is monitored throughout the day by on-site staff and backed by 24/7 video recording.

Yes. We offer a concierge-style receiving service for your convenience. Shipments can be delivered directly to our on-site office and are placed immediately in a designated, climate-controlled holding locker. With Shipment Arrival Alerts, you'll get an automatic text and email the moment your package arrives, and you'll have up to 7 days to collect it. This service is free of charge for US Storage Centers members — and removes the risk of allocation or wine club shipments spending unnecessary time with FedEx or UPS when no one is at your home to receive and sign for them.

Our Chicago facility offers two unit configurations. Open, case-ready units have clear floor space, so it's easy to stack, rearrange, and move cases in and out without obstruction — a good fit if you frequently add to or draw from your stock. For collectors who want access to individual bottles, we can install professional wine racking directly in your unit, letting you browse your collection at a glance, pull a single bottle without disturbing the rest, and organize by varietal, region, or vintage. Ask our team about shelving availability and installation when signing your lease.

Yes. We offer facility-wide Wi-Fi throughout the storage area, so you can update and manage your collection inventory right from your locker. Whether you're logging new arrivals, checking what you've got on hand, or organizing by vintage, you'll have a connection wherever you're working.
