The elevator replacement was scheduled for the worst possible time, when most people have holidays items stored. Scheduling after the beginning of the New Year would have been much better.
I really miss the former staff, Joanne and Umberto, they were very helpful, unlike the current staff. I have storage on the 4th floor and a wine cellar. I needed to access my wine storage and informed the employee that I would need some help due to a recent surgery. He took me down to the cellar, then disappeared.
All of this is on top of the rate increases!

The experience was horrible. There was no notice that the elevator was going to be out for 12 weeks. We only found out when we arrived with our truck full of stuff. I will never do business with you guys again.

Since US Storage took over they've worked to update the facilities, but the personnel are just not as friendly (and sometimes competent) as they used to be. The rates have increased and I'm looking for alternatives for my wine storage needs

Your facility needs more consistency in management. The recent management addition/ change has not been favorable and lacking communication with the elevator construction. A strategic plan to assist customers during the construction would have been better customer service. I’m at the facility several times a week and somehow taking 4 flights of stairs while carrying large boxes is the new managers resolution until the elevator is operable.

Just awful. All calls are routed to the sales center. I could never reach the actual storage center. I had to rely on a call back at times convenient for them. Getting my bill straight took 4-5 phone calls. I would NEVER use this place again.

We had amazing customer service from both Noel and Corra at 1516 N Orleans St in Chicago. They are so helpful and lent us a hand with our items on several occasions as well as being extremely polite and professional.

Awful. I had water damage within days of moving in. I was offered to be moved at my own expense to another unit, and that’s all. I am therefore moving my things after only 1 month there. However, I have yet to receive confirmation that I will not be charged for the full month of August since I am moving out August 2nd due to the damages. A pro-rated rate for the 1 day in the month I’ll be using the unit seems reasonable to me, but I don’t think they have any intention of honoring it.

My experience with US Storage in Old Town has been great! The pricing structure and move in process was explained clearly to me over the phone. Corra helped me check in and move in my furniture and was a pleasure to work with.
The facility is on the older side and could use some upgrades, including after hours access, but hopefully they'll come soon! However, the aspects that matter -- staff friendliness, professionalism, my impression of the facility's safety -- are all top notch.

US storage centers recently took over managing my storage facility in Chicago. I had a conversation with the new manager at the facility asking if I could receive deliveries In the same manner that I had received them previously. I was very specific to state the deliveries were multiple boxes and at times on a pallet. The manager shared with me there were no changes and gave me the same instructions for deliveries I had used with the prior management. Shortly after the said conversation, the manager refused my FedEx delivery of 14 boxes. I tried speaking to the manager several times before she refused my delivery but she would not help in any way. I then asked to speak to her supervisor and was told I would receive a phone call back from that supervisor. It’s now several days later I am chasing after FedEx to re-deliver and I still have not heard back from the management. Thank you but no thank you this has been nothing but a hassle. I was a long term customer At the facility under the previous management. If things don’t improve I won’t be a customer any longer
