We're at 9300 West Colfax Avenue, Lakewood, CO 80215, on the north side of Colfax between Kipling Street and Garrison Street. From I-70, exit Kipling Street south about two miles to Colfax and turn east. From US-6, take Kipling north to Colfax and turn east. From Denver, drive west on Colfax past Wadsworth and Garrison — the facility is on your right before Kipling. From Golden or Colorado Mills, US-6 or Colfax east to Kipling.

Landmarks make the first trip easy: we're a short drive north of the Denver Federal Center and Belmar, west of the 40 West Arts District along Colfax, and a few blocks from the RTD W Line's Garrison and Lakewood–Wadsworth stations. Wheat Ridge is directly north across I-70, Edgewater and Sloan's Lake are east along Colfax, and Golden sits at the west end of US-6. Needed a place to keep my possessions while my new apartment was being prepared. This place had great reviews so I picked them. I have never used such an automated system before for storage! Could not believe how well organized this place is. Heather and Chief explained the process, policies, and did a walk through to the unit I was getting. The hours are really open (6 am to 9 pm) and they have carts to use and a nice enclosed bay for loading and unloading. This is my second time using their services and i couldnt be happier! I love this storage facility. Easy access from Colfax, very safe climate controlled units. Very friendly and helpful staff always! They even have trolleys to help you get your stuff in the elevator and moved into the units. 10/10 would rent a unit here again!

I needed a spot to put some of my belongings. Close to where I was move out. The staff was always professional and helpful.

I didn't rent a locker; I leased a pocket dimension. Smart Space Self Storage isn't your standard storage—it’s a high-security bunker for the relics of a dying era. The air is scrubbed of all organic pollutants, and the silence is so thick it feels like a physical barrier.

This place is awesome. Melissa is wonderful, you can't go wrong here.

Prices were good, I just needed a short term space. Clean and everyone was friendly.

I’ve had a unit here for 5 years, just moved out. Great experience, very affordable, access was reliable and the management was helpful and respectful. Only downside is there are quite a few homeless here so you’ll sometimes get weird smells in the building. But that probably happens for any storage place in this part of town. Still a solid place to keep your stuff

This is a great storage place and easy to get to. I don't have a car and the facility is right down Garrison a block away from light rail Garrison station. The facility was easy to use and no inconveniences when it got busy. Management was friendly too. I felt that my stuff was secure there.

Turning out to not really be a big fan of this place. The staff is friendly when they are around... that being said you can only use the carts if they are there which if you live a normal life odds are you will be there when they aren't. My advice is to buy a cheap foldable dolly and bring it with you. Otherwise you can plan on being there for quite sometime... also the restrooms are rarely open just an FYI. Probably will be looking elsewhere very soon.

I stopped by today searching for a unit to store my seasonal items, and I received the best service from a gentleman named Tim. He was extremely helpful. I was concerned about how secure my items would be and Tim did a excellent job explaining the security measures that are taken to make sure my things are safe. Camera systems, security codes that allow you to access only the floor that your unit is on, and an after hours security company. You can also bring in your own lock I will definitely be renting here. Thanks so much Tim!

Last I remembered, this place was being overrun but the homeless, but they cleaned it up completely. Staff is very professional & willing to help in any way. Rates are very low/ competitive as well. The new staff here has been very helpful and truly care for my possessions. A couple of months ago, I past on this place as an option due to all the homeless and sketchy people there. I drove by and saw it was getting cleaned up so I stopped in and Jen walked me around and made me feel comfortable enough to bring my possessions here for a lower monthly rate. During the process Tim came in and what a great guy he is. I couldn't get over how polite they both were.

I was referred to this Smart Space location by one of my best friends who also rents here. I walked in and was greeted promptly by Heather and the rest was pretty straight forward. I had a great experience checking-in at Smart Space. Heather was amazing - she showed me to my space and gave me straightforward instructions on how to access my unit. I was worried that bringing my goods to a storage unit would be an annoying process, but it was quite the opposite! 10/10 would recommend.

Nice new facility however using of their carts or supplies is limited and inconvenient due to the fact there's only someone available in the office until 5:00 p.m. and the hours are only until 9:00 p.m. to access the unit.... Otherwise it's clean affordable and secured

I've been with the storage place for about over a little over year, it was a little complicated in navigating the gate after hours or when they changed the time to be on the premises before 9:00PM; HOWEVER this makes me feel safe and confident that my items are being secured and even by their security detail! Good place to store items and the employees are very nice and communicative!

Wow. Where to being? This is the grand palace of storage facilities! I've never had an experience at another storage facility as memorable as this one. The lady at the desk was so nice and friendly, we should be best friends. So easy to pull up your car into this garage in the building for the easiest unloading access I've ever had. THEY EVER PROVIDE CARTS! I can't tell you the amount of hours I've spent carrying all of my stuff in and out at other storage units but within 4 trips I got my entire truck unloaded inside! No back pain after! Billing is completely accurate, no hidden fees (as I've been renting for 3 months now). I've truly never had a better experience with any business ever in my life. I wish I could rate 100 stars. I would live there I'd I could. Thank you smart space, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU

Attentive, friendly service when I moved in and each time I've been back to the office to borrow a cart. Simple, accurate billing and payments by autopay each month, so I don't have one more bill to have to think about. The facility is clean and seems to be very secure. Easy and secure access 7 days a week. Definitely recommend!

I don't personally rent here but I recently won a storage unit in an auction and as far as customer service went the ladies at the front were very helpful as far as questions I had That I I needed answered. But the 1st day I was there I was downstairs getting one of the storages I won locked with my lock on it and my boyfriend went up to the 3rd floor to have them show him where the other one was and to open it for us, I had rode up the elevator with someone to try to find him and I got stuck in the stair well, I went out into a stairwell which I thought was an exit and I got locked inside the stairwell for approximately 15 minutes and I literally had to call the front desk in order to get me out of there because the doors were locked from the inside . So I had to call the office to get me out of there and they told me they didn't have keys to get me out of there so i had to go out the emergency exit. And the stairwell was completely disgusting people were using it as a bathroom and it looked as if someone was staying in there . But as far as security for this place is pretty amazing you have to have a code to activate the elevator even so I was definitely impressed with that .

I went to take a look at some different storage units at this location. I spoke with Heather, and she was the sweetest person. She turned my most stressful situation into the smoothest process ever.

The only thing I don't like is the fact that there are times when you can't get the elevator right away

Came in to inquire about a storage unit, didn't end up renting due to financial problems but heather and Justin seemed super nice and answered all my questions with ease as well as showed me the different sizes so i could gauge how much space i would need to store all my belongings, overall a very good experience and would recommend anyone to come check this place out

Heather, the Property Manager is such a gem. This place is pretty neat, very clean and top-notch secure. The 🔐 locks are soo affordable here, the units are spacious, the security is on point and the name says it all #SmartStorage. I am happy with my rental, the customer service I received and the peace of mind I have storing with them.

I highly recommend this facility for your storage needs. Property Manager Mark Huff, was professional and over-the-top helpful from the moment I walked in. Although he was busy, he acknowled me and gave me the timeframe I would be waiting. His explanation of the rules and guidelines were given with genuine interest in my understanding the reasoning. The facility is clean, the cost was substantially less than surrounding storage options, and the security is above standard. I visited several, and the service was no where near what I experienced, Thank you Mark.

The man at the front desk was so awesome and friendly as soon as we walked in the door I felt welcomed and he got right to helping us out showing us the storage space. The place was smelling great and very clean !

I went in expecting the usual when it comes to storage facilities; the usual, half run-down, grumpy people at the desk and a slow, slow process. Much to my surprise, I was 100% wrong. the facilities were immaculate, the staff (specifically Mark) was very pleasant and communicative. We looked at a unit and had the process completed in about 15 minutes. I was expecting around $60/month but ended up paying $39/month. I'll take it!

I have been renting from this storage facility for over a year. I started when it was under a different name and management. When Heather and Mark arrived with the new Smart Space storage, I was relieved. Both if these employees are very professional as well as understanding during the stressful life event of moving and storage. I recommend Smart Space storage to anyone in the Denver Metro area, prices are also reasonable. This storage facility has a great location with easy accessibility. Their security is top notch A great place for storage needs.

We have been very happy with Smart Space storage, especially Mark at the office there. He was incredibly professional and very very helpful!

I rented a 5x5 storage unit for over a year at this location and it was great! I had chosen a unit on the 3rd floor and was able to use a nice cart & the elevator to move my things to and from so it was no problem. I just had to get used to the right sequence of putting in the codes to get up the elevator, but they do have a clear sign with instructions. It's comforting that the place is so secure. I LOVE how well lit the place is and very clean (not dreary or creepy at all like some other places I've had storage units), I am a young single female & felt very safe going in and out of the place which is pretty important for me. When it was time for me to move my things out of my storage unit I had brought the wrong keys... I was a bit anxious as I had traveled from another state to pick up my things and there was no way for me to get the right keys. Mark and Heather were very sweet and helpful, they were able to drill out my lock so I could get into the unit and access my things. They were very friendly and professional to work with. I would recommend this place to anyone : )

Had the best experience with Heather. I called yesterday to get info and prices, she has amazing customer service skills and even more so in person! Quick, helpful, efficient she even gave me an extra lock that they had so I wouldn't have to buy one, so sweet and kind!! The facility is clean, state of the art, modern and safe. You have to put your code in 3xs to get to the units. LOVE THAT! Thank you Heather!! Look forward to being a new tenant.

was great when it was all space storage - seamless process, short set up time in office to obtain a unit & super friendly & accommodating. smart space storage i think (just purchased by new ownership today) went to upgrade my 5x7 to a 10x5 for immediate move/storage purposes & cliff who was in office was extremely helpful & responsive & informative. was upgraded & moving into my unit within an hour of visiting the location to upgrade current space! super clean, well lit, aesthetically pleasing (for a storage center anyway) big plus! easily accessible & navigable site. super affordable! i only pay 64 a month with insurance on valuables stored in unit per month (10x5) would 10/10 recommend!

Honestly, I've had a few storage units from a couple of different storage facilities. And extra space would be, hands down, the best one i have had the opportunity to rent from. They keep the entire facility clean, tidy and safe. The employees here are respectful, helpful and will go out of their way to make you feel welcome. I definitely recommend renting from this location. Not only is it fair pricing.... its practical. The manager on location is truly understanding and motivated to keep you happy. Keep up the good work!

I'm not a customer but my friend is. My friend John is going through a horrible time right now. He needed to rent a storage and was stressed. I helped him move all his stuff in. Melanie was the young lady who helped accommodate all of John's needs. I wish I had something to store so she could be the one to help me. It's times in life that bring you down where you need a friend the most. This young lady made everything so simple and makes you feel like you have a friend in her. I will tell anyone I know to rent from here.

Fantastic place! Brand new, great security, clean with excellent customer service.

The facility manager, Jon, was extremely courteous in showing me the different size units as well as on the day I moved my belongings into one of the units. I would highly recommend this Extra Space location.

I called this evening about 20 mins after 5 pm and spoke to Sarah who was amazing. She was cheerful, happy and knowledgeable. She answered my questions and recapped everything thoroughly. When I went into the store, the gentleman working was professional and courteous. He was helping another family. We waited a few mins. He came over and helped us and he showed us the storage. The place was clean, clean and the service was outstanding. I feel bad because I can’t remember the gentleman’s name. I think it was a John. In any event, he was nice, thoughtful, funny and very helpful. Overall , I’m happy with my experience. Thank you so much for making this transaction simple. Hugely appreciated. Lynnette
